How do you estimate market size for industrial robotics without good public data?

Trying to size the collaborative robot segment but most reports are super expensive or outdated. Any tricks for building a bottom-up estimate?

Bottom-up is the right call here. Start with publicly available unit shipment data from trade associations like IFR (they publish some free summaries), then cross-check with LinkedIn to count how many 'cobot applications engineer' or 'collaborative robot' roles exist at integrators — headcount is a decent proxy for market activity. I'd also pull 10-K filings from Universal Robots' parent (Teradyne) and FANUC; they break out segment revenue more than people realize.
