We triangulate end-customer sell-through data against distributor inventory levels to strip out the supply noise — if sell-through stays flat but orders spike, that's hoarding, not real demand. Also track design-win pipelines and customer order patterns (look for abnormal order multiples) as leading indicators. Gartner's demand signal repository approach is worth a look if you want a more structured framework.
