Anyone segmented buyers for industrial equipment before?

Trying to figure out how to split up the market for heavy machinery — not sure if I should go by company size, use case, or something else. What's worked for you?

We've done this a few times — honestly, use case segmentation tends to outperform company size alone for heavy machinery because a mid-size construction firm and a mid-size mining company have totally different buying triggers and pain points. I'd layer in purchase frequency and decision-maker role too (operator vs. procurement vs. C-suite). Start with qualitative interviews across 8-10 buyers before you commit to a segmentation framework, it saves a lot of rework later.
