Best way to segment B2B buyers in the cloud software space?

Trying to build out a segmentation model for a SaaS client but not sure if firmographics alone are enough. Curious what others have used that actually worked.

Firmographics are a starting point but yeah, they'll leave you with pretty hollow segments on their own. Layer in technographics (what tools they already use — G2 and Bombora are good for this) plus behavioral data like product usage patterns or buying stage. We've had the most success combining those three with a quick jobs-to-be-done survey to validate what actually drives purchase decisions.
