Best way to survey procurement teams about chip sourcing decisions?

Trying to understand how procurement folks in electronics manufacturing decide between chip suppliers. Wondering if surveys even work here or if interviews are better.

Both work, but honestly for procurement decisions I'd start with 8-10 in-depth interviews first to map out the actual decision criteria before you build a survey. Procurement folks in electronics have really nuanced supplier evaluation processes (pricing, lead times, EOL risk, etc.) that are hard to capture if you're guessing at the attributes upfront. Once you have the interview themes, a conjoint survey with ~150-200 respondents can quantify the tradeoffs nicely.
