How do you segment patients vs. caregivers in healthcare research?

Working on a study where both patients and their caregivers are key audiences but they have pretty different needs. Curious how others have handled the segmentation.

We typically split them into separate screener tracks from the start — patients qualify based on diagnosis/condition, caregivers on their caregiving role and relationship to the patient. The key is capturing *both* in your recruit so you can run parallel surveys or interview guides tailored to each, then cross-analyze where their priorities align or diverge. Qualtrics branching logic makes this pretty clean to manage in one study.
