How do you size a market for a new B2B SaaS product?

Trying to estimate TAM for a niche cybersecurity tool and not sure whether to go top-down or bottom-up. Any tips from people who've done this before?

For niche B2B SaaS I'd honestly do both and triangulate. Start bottom-up: pull company counts from LinkedIn Sales Navigator or Crunchbase filtered by your ICP (industry, size, tech stack), estimate conversion rates, and build up from there. Then sanity-check against top-down using Gartner or IDC reports for the broader cybersecurity segment — if your numbers are wildly off, dig into why.
