Anyone done pricing research for specialty crops before?

Trying to understand what farmers are willing to pay for a new crop protection product. Wondering if conjoint analysis even makes sense here or if there's a better method.

Conjoint can work but specialty crop farmers are tough to recruit in big enough numbers for it to be reliable. I'd honestly start with Van Westendorp price sensitivity meter — it's faster, needs fewer respondents (even 50-80 works), and farmers respond well to the straightforward questions. If you do go conjoint, keep it simple with choice-based and lean on extension agents or co-ops to help with recruitment.
