Anyone used eye-tracking for shelf packaging research?

We're testing a redesign for a CPG client and wondering if eye-tracking is actually worth the budget. Curious if anyone has done this recently and found it useful.

Yes, used Tobii eye-tracking for a snack brand redesign last year and it was genuinely worth it — we caught that shoppers were completely missing the new flavor callout in the first 3 seconds of shelf exposure. If budget is tight, remote eye-tracking tools like Lumen Research are a cheaper middle ground and work well for digital shelf simulations. Pair it with a quick 'pick from shelf' implicit task and you'll get solid directional data.
