Best way to segment B2B buyers for a new SaaS tool?

Working on a project for a mid-size software company and trying to figure out how to slice their buyer base beyond just company size. Any frameworks you've actually found useful?

Beyond firmographics, I've had the most luck layering in 'job-to-be-done' segmentation — basically grouping buyers by the core problem they're trying to solve rather than what they look like on paper. Combine that with buying role (champion vs. economic buyer vs. end user) and you get segments that actually predict behavior. Pragmatic Institute's framework is a solid starting point if you want something battle-tested.
