How do you research why people switch car brands after just one purchase?

Working on a churn study for an OEM and trying to figure out the best way to capture switching behavior. Any methods that worked well for you?

Lost customer surveys work really well here — reach out 3-6 months post-purchase when the next-buy decision is still fresh. We pair that with a structured exit interview asking respondents to rank their top switching drivers (reliability, dealer experience, pricing, etc.) so you get both qual and quant in one shot. JD Power's APEAL and SSI data can also help you benchmark against broader switching patterns if your OEM has access.
