How do you segment buyers when they're shopping for both EVs and hybrids?

Working on a project for an OEM and the consideration sets keep overlapping. Not sure if we should treat EV and hybrid intenders as one segment or split them out.

Split them out but track the overlap — that crossover group is actually its own micro-segment worth watching. We've had good luck using a latent class segmentation on the consideration data, which naturally surfaces the 'undecided' cluster without forcing you to pre-assign them. Range anxiety scores and home charging access tend to be the cleanest discriminators between true EV intenders and hybrid-leaning shoppers.
