How do you segment EV buyers vs traditional car shoppers?

Working on a project for an auto client and not sure if we should treat them as totally different audiences. Has anyone done this kind of segmentation before?

Yes, treat them as distinct segments — the decision drivers are genuinely different. EV buyers skew heavily on environmental values, tech adoption, and total cost of ownership, while traditional shoppers prioritize upfront price, range anxiety (ironically), and brand familiarity. I'd start with a psychographic layer on top of your demo data — something like Environics or even a quick attitudinal battery in your survey can surface these differences fast.
