Anyone done taste testing research for low-sugar products recently?

We're reformulating a drink and need to test consumer reactions to the new sweetness level. Curious if in-person panels still beat online methods for this kind of thing.

Yes, done a few of these recently! For sweetness perception specifically, in-person panels still win — you really can't replicate mouthfeel and taste digitally. That said, we've had good luck doing a hybrid: in-person CLT (Central Location Test) for the sensory work, then a follow-up online survey with the same respondents to capture purchase intent and messaging. Keeps costs manageable while getting solid sensory data.
