For residential solar, I'd prioritize homeownership status first (renters are basically irrelevant), then layer in home age and roof type since those drive install feasibility. Geography matters too but mainly for utility rates and incentive eligibility — so grouping by state or utility territory beats raw region. Income helps but it's often correlated with home value, which is easier for respondents to report accurately.
