How do small farmers usually find out about new crop tech?

Trying to figure out the best channels to reach smallholder farmers with new agri-tech products. Not sure if they rely more on word of mouth or extension workers.

From what I've seen in the field, it's actually both — but peer-to-peer trust tends to win out. A neighbor showing results on their own plot is more convincing than any extension worker handout. That said, extension workers are still your best entry point for initial reach, so I'd use them to seed early adopters, then let word of mouth do the heavy lifting.
