How do you figure out why people switch coffee brands?

Trying to understand churn in the premium coffee space. Not sure if surveys are enough or if I need something more qualitative.

Surveys alone usually miss the real story — people rationalize switching after the fact. I'd pair a short exit survey (5 questions max) with 8-10 in-depth interviews to catch the emotional triggers surveys won't surface. In premium coffee especially, it's rarely just price; identity and ritual disruption come up constantly in the qual.
