For specialty chemicals, I'd start with needs-based segmentation rather than just firmographics — group buyers by application type and pain point (cost reduction vs. performance vs. compliance). Layering in purchasing behavior (price-sensitive vs. spec-driven) helps you prioritize faster. We ran a cluster analysis on ~200 B2B accounts last year using those variables and it surfaced 4 actionable segments pretty cleanly.
