How do you track shifting brand loyalty in the snack food space?

Seeing a lot of private label growth lately and wondering if anyone has a solid approach to measuring when shoppers actually switch. Surveys feel too slow for this.

Loyalty card / POS panel data is your best bet here — NielsenIQ and Circana both track actual switching behavior at the household level, way faster signal than surveys. We've had good luck setting up repeat-purchase rate alerts on a rolling 4-week basis to catch early movers before it shows up in share numbers. Private label switching tends to happen in clusters around price spikes, so layering in CPI timing helps explain the 'why' too.
