We rely heavily on panel data (Nielsen or Circana) to track household-level switching between branded and private label — you can literally see when a loyalist defects. Pair that with a quick brand equity tracker every quarter and you'll start spotting the 'at-risk' segments before the switching fully shows up in sales data. The combo has been pretty reliable for us in salty snacks specifically.
