Best way to survey farmers about new ag tech adoption?

Trying to understand why smallholder farmers are slow to adopt precision farming tools. Wondering if surveys even work here or if I should go a different route.

Surveys alone usually miss the mark with smallholder farmers — low literacy rates and trust issues can really skew your data. I'd recommend pairing a short 10-12 question oral survey (administered in person by a local enumerator) with a few in-depth interviews to capture the real 'why.' Focus groups in village settings also tend to surface adoption barriers that no survey would ever catch.
